Privacy

This site belongs to the author who writes as Ellis Kessick. It collects as little as possible. This page explains what that is, and what you can do about it.

The reader list

If you join the reader list, the only thing we ask for is your email address. We use it to tell you when the next Leah Brandt novel is ready, and to send the occasional update. We don’t sell it, share it or use it for anything else.

The list uses double opt-in. After you sign up, you get one email asking you to confirm. You won’t receive anything else unless you confirm.

Kit, our email provider

The list is run on Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores your address and sends the emails for us. Kit acts as our processor and is based in the United States, so your address may be stored and processed there. Kit records when you signed up and confirmed, along with technical details such as your IP address, as proof of your consent. Kit’s emails may include standard open and link-click measurement. You can read Kit’s privacy policy.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click removes you from the list. If you would like your address deleted entirely, or want to know what we hold about you, email [email protected] and we’ll take care of it.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to pages. It does not use cookies, does not identify you, and does not track you across other websites. We see totals only, such as how many people viewed a page.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies. If you choose an Amazon store on the book page, your browser remembers that choice on your own device so the right links appear next time. That choice is never sent to us.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The site’s fonts are hosted on the site itself, and no other third-party services are loaded.

Contacting us by email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to how it is used. To do any of these, email [email protected]. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
